The research project „Enacting Citizenship and Solidarity in Europe ‚From Below‘: Local Initiatives, Intersectional Strategies, and Transnational Networks“ focusse on migrant rights, housing, and care work. Conducting 10 case studies in European cities, we study how civil society organizations and municipalities enact citizenship and solidarity at local scales and across issues and space (through intersectional strategies and translocal networks).
Funded in the “Challenges for Europe“ initiative of the @VolkswagenSt, we ask how urban political initiatives respond to 1) the European challenge of cross-border solidarity, while dealing 2) with the challenge of thematic and geographical isolation. For three years, we work in a consortium with researchers from 5 European countries: Italy, Slovenia, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark.
